Helldivers 2 Developers Roll Out Updates to Address Controversial Feature

Despite only being released a few months ago, Helldivers 2 has quickly immersed players in intense battles against the Automatons and Terminids. To enhance the gaming experience, Arrowhead Game Studios has been diligently working on improving various aspects of the game.

While game adjustments can sometimes miss the mark, the developers have taken heed of feedback from the community and made changes to a contentious gameplay element. This update is expected to alleviate player frustration and possibly save the virtual lives of many soldiers.

In the most recent update, version 01.000.300, a significant alteration was made, allowing players to disable the automatic climbing and vaulting during sprints through a new gameplay setting:

“Introduced a new option in the gameplay settings to turn off automatic climbing and vaulting during sprints.”

Enabling this setting will prevent automatic climbing onto map objects or ledges, eliminating the annoyance of accidentally scaling Resupply pods. However, it does mean that climbing now needs to be manually initiated.

While an alternative solution could have been to modify Resupply pods so they are not climbable, the primary concern appears to have been addressed. Since climbing Resupply pods has been the main issue encountered, many players may choose to keep this setting turned off.

Although unintentionally scaling Resupply pods may disrupt gameplay, it is essential to ensure that you are well-equipped with suitable weapons for your missions.
