Square Enix has announced that a new PlayStation-exclusive shooter game called Foamstars, similar to Splatoon, will be released in February and be available to download for free for PlayStation Plus members.
Unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, Foamstars is a colorful shooting game where two teams compete using foamy splashes instead of bullets. The official launch will introduce a new mode called Rubber Duck Party in addition to the two modes available during the closed beta last year.
In addition, Square Enix plans to release regular seasonal content updates during the game’s first year. These updates will include a season pass for accessing exclusive items and a Premium Tier for dedicated players. Fans can expect new maps, characters, and game modes to be included in these updates.
