In a recent announcement on the Call of Duty Blog, it has been confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera has shut down as of September 21, 2023.

The decision comes as the development teams behind the popular game shift their focus towards creating future Call of Duty content, including enhancing the current Warzone free-to-play experience, like the recently released Vondel map.

What is Available in Warzone 2?

For players who have yet to explore the current Warzone activities, the blog states that exciting developments are on the horizon. They have also decided to remove the “Warzone 2” label and instead refer to the new Warzone 2 as just Warzone.

Nonetheless, the current Warzone experience offers a wide array of gameplay options across three Battle Royale maps, with Ranked Play, DMZ, and BlackCell cosmetic offerings.

What Will Happen to Purchased Content in Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera?

Fortunately, the shutdown of Warzone Caldera will not affect any aspects of the current Warzone experience. If you have purchased content, it will remain in the title that the content originated from: Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard.
