A Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 update arrived on February 24 and it brought more nerfs to the dominant RPK and Fennec after they were previously nerfed in the Season 2 update. Let’s take a look at the patch notes below.
Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 delivered a ton of new content for players to digest including Ashika Island and Ranked Play. Modern Warfare 2 has since managed to reach new heights when it comes to Twitch viewership.
Despite the update being well received by players, the devs are still looking to improve the state of both games. While the RPK and Fennec were nerfed with the Season 2 update, players believed that the nerf wasn’t substantial enough to dethrone either weapon.
Luckily for those, who want to see the rise of a new weapon meta in Warzone 2, the devs nerfed both weapons once more on February 24. Let’s take a look at the patch notes.
RPK, Fennec & one-shot Sniper Rifles nerfed in Warzone 2 update
The RPK nerf is quite substantial as the devs reduced its damage range as well as increased its recoil. This has the potential to knock the weapon off the top spot when it comes to long-range options in Warzone 2.
Meanwhile, the Fennec had its far damage and damage against armor reduced. Players were already starting to favor the Lachmann Sub in Warzone 2 and these recent nerfs could be the last straw for the Fennec.
The last major nerf will impact Sniper Rifles as the popular Incendiary Ammunition will no longer result in one-shot kills.
