Epic Games has recently released a new update for Fortnite, bringing in significant gameplay changes and a special event to celebrate the game’s anniversary. While Epic has stopped providing detailed update notes since the launch of Chapter 2, we’ve got you covered.

This latest update focuses mainly on Fortnite’s sixth anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, Epic has introduced a unique in-game event that will last for at least a week. During this event, players have the opportunity to earn exclusive cosmetic items free of charge.

What’s New in Today’s Fortnite Update

The latest Fortnite update introduces birthday challenges and rewards. There are a total of eight tasks that can be completed during the event, with each task offering 20,000 XP. Completing more tasks will unlock additional free cosmetic items.

Some of these tasks involve the use of reintroduced items. These items have made a comeback as soon as the event started at 9 AM Eastern Time. In addition to these items, Epic Games has also reintroduced several Reality Features and added a new one.

Here are the detailed Fortnite update notes:

  • Birthday gifts reintroduced: These can be found on the ground or in storage chests.
  • Balloons reintroduced: Activate them using a new Reality Feature or collect them from the ground or chests.
  • Bloodhound Reality Feature reintroduced: Mark enemies by hitting them with a marksman rifle.
  • Shell Slide Reality Feature reintroduced: Gain shotgun ammo while sliding.
  • Jump Balloon Reality Feature added: Automatically receive a balloon when you jump.
  • Birthday Cakes now appear in named locations: Consume them to restore health and shield.

The Fortnite Birthday celebration is expected to continue until the v26.20 update next week. Make sure to find Birthday Cakes and consume them to complete this year’s challenges and earn exclusive rewards.
