The devs didn’t stop there as they went on to confirm that “Not only will you keep every item you’ve collected over the years, but they’ll all benefit from Source 2 lighting and materials.”

Counter-Strike 2 will utilize the Source 2 engine to deliver a brand-new look to the game fans know and love. From drastic lighting changes to the way in which elements such as water, smoke, and bullets interact with each other, players will experience a new dynamic environment.

The devs also confirmed that some weapon models would also receive changes: “In addition to supporting legacy models and finishes, all stock weapons have been upgraded with high-resolution models, and some weapon finishes take advantage of these new models.”
